Restoring the 1908 Watson Barn will safeguard a defining landmark of the South Cariboo while transforming the 108 Heritage Site into a more dynamic and accessible community space. With the addition of interpretive signage at each building, visitors will experience a self-guided journey through local history, connecting with the stories of early ranchers, travelers, and community builders. The site will support school programs, community events, and cultural tourism, creating meaningful learning opportunities and strengthening local pride.
This project is led by the 100 Mile House & District Historical Society, with strong support from volunteers, local businesses, and community partners who contribute skills, materials, and ongoing programming. Once complete, the restored barn and enhanced site will host tours, educational activities, and gatherings that benefit residents and visitors alike, while contributing to the local economy.
